The Marine Corps Systems Command is conducting Market Research for a Command Post Tent (120-220 SQ FT. OBJ-150 SQ FT), and a modular medium size tent (512-650 SQ FT) systems to replace the current Family of Tactical Soft Shelters. We are seeking sources, contract vehicles, technical information and approximate costing for the modular tent system which will include a modular design that is capable of allowing two or more shelters of the same or different size to be attached to form various combinations of length and width. The tents must have the capability to be frame or pole supported (internal or external) while maximizing unobstructed floor space, and provide for rapid erect/strike. The support systems must be light weight, durable, easy to assemble, require no additional tools and be resistive to corrosion. System must have a minimum 3 year service life with no significant degradation due to weathering effects. A minimum 10 year storage life is required. The material must be light weight, resistantto tears, abrasion, POL contamination, fire, water, weather, mildew, mold and fungus during exposure and remain serviceable in temperatures ranging from -25/-32 degrees to 125/52 degrees Farenheit/Celsius/, and pliable to -40 degrees Farenheit/Celsius. The fabric shall not emit any hazardous fumes if exposed to flames. The tentage systems must interface with standard Marine Corps lighting, power distribution systems and environmental control units. Tents must withstand a steady wind speed of 55 mph with gusts of 65 mph and snow loads of 10 lbs per square foot, and impermeable to water and water vapor. The tent must permit maximum ventilation of fumes, smoke, steam, or heat without the aid of powered ventilating systems without compromising light discipline.
