A -- ELECTRONICALLY ENHANCED SENSING CHIP SOL N00019-97-C-2017 POC Lisa Abell, Contract Specialist, (301) 757-2609, Vicki Fuhrmann, Contracting Officer, (301) 757-2602 The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, MD, intends to issue a sole source modification to Contract N00019-97-C-2017 with Sarnoff Corporation for the continuation of a research effort for the design and development of an Electronically Enhanced Sensing (EES) Chip in support of the Warfighter Visualization Program. The EES Chip is to be capable of executing functions currently being performed by the Video Fame Estimator (VFE) 200. These functions include electronic video stabilization, image filtering, image warping, and frame to frame visual motion estimation at execution speeds that are well in excess of video rates. Sarnoff has designed unique enhancements and modifications to the VFE, and is the only firm that possesses the necessary knowledge, experience, and technical data required to perform this effort without substantial delays and increased investment.
