William Weinberg, SEA 02533, 703/602-8000 Ext. 533 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a sole source Contract to Lockheed Martin Launching Systems, P.O. Box 4931, Baltimore, Maryland, 21220 for Engineering Services to support the MK41 Vertical Launching System (VLS). The contract will consist of a base year plus four option years, and is estimated to total 729,800 labor hours including options in the base year (FY00) and an additional 1,114,150 hours for option years FY01-FY04. Lockheed Martin is the original designer and developer of the MK41 VLS and therefore possesses the unique capabilities required for the performance of this contract.
