66 -- SOLID STATE LASER SYSTEM SOL 53SBNB967065 DUE 051499 POC Marsha Rodgers,(301) 975-6398, FAX (301) 963-7732 WEB: NIST Contracts Homepage, http://www.nist.gov/admin/od/contract/contract.htm. E-MAIL: NIST Contracts Office, Contract@nist.gov. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for one each solid-state diode pumped 5 watt, 532 nm laser as a pump source for a femtosecond Ti:Sapphire laser oscillator. These combined lasers serve to produce femtosecond, 80 Mhz optical pulses to generate far infrared (Terahertz) light in a spectroscopy system. The new solid-state, 5 Watt laser is needed to increase femtosecond pulse stability, reduced warm-up time, improved far-infrared stability and increased broadband THz sensitivity. Laser system specifications to include: 1) Solid-state, dual 20 Watt diode-array pumped Nd: Vanadate, intracavity doubled laser which delivers greater than 5 Watts (continuous) at 532 nm. Frequency doubling shall be accomplished with a temperature-stabilized LBO crystal. The laser head shall be hermetically sealed with no user-adjustable controls and fiber optic connection(s) from supply to laser head to reduce noise and improve stability; 2) The laser output beam shall be Gaussian, have vertical polarization with better than 100-to-1 extinction ratio, 2.25 mm diameter with less than 0.5 mrad divergence, M-squared value less than 1.1, ellipticity less than 10 percent, and pointing stability less than 5 microrad /degree Celsius; 3) Laser output noise less than 0.05 percent rms measured from 10 Hz to 1 Ghz. Integrated power stability drift plus or minus 1 percent or less over a two hour period; 4) 110 VAC, 60 Hz with 20 Amperes or less power requirements, provided with air or water laser supply and head cooling. Vendors shall supply current technical information about their products including total system performance, detailed specifications, and a list of satisfied customers. Evaluation criteria shall include 1) Understanding the requirement, 2) Exceeding the required specifications, 3) Ease of operation of the system, and 4) demonstration of successful past performance and ability to meet the required delivery time. F.O.B. Destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Required Delivery Time 8 weeks. The Government anticipates award of a fixed price purchase order under full and open competition to be awarded approximately 5/20/99. Interested parties shall request a copy of the quotation number referenced above. Posted 04/28/99 (W-SN325295). (0118)
