A diagnosis can also be performed for a fetus from the 14th week of gestation on by carrying out the same analysis in a sample of amniotic fluid. Requirements are no more than 0.5 ml of EDTA plasma, 0.1 g of tissue or 1ml of amniotic fluid sent frozen by overnight delivery. The cost of each of the above assays is $163.00 and results will usually be communicated within 2 weeks after receipt of plasma or tissues or one week after receipt of amniotic fluid.
