The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to procure post production support services for the F/A-18 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, PO Box 516, St. Louis, MO 62166-0516. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft, and is the only known firm possessing adequate existing knowledge, facilities, tooling, and special test equipment to provide post production support. This support includes the following: configuration management/maintenance; ECP preparation and impact analysis; engineering field studies/investigations; safety maintenance analysis; supplier coordination/obsolescence analysis; F/A-18 parts and subsystems; technical publications; support equipment and parts; spare and repair parts; spare provisioning and database management; technical directives and manuals; design change notices (DCN) maintenance; calibration/measurements/requirements summary; site survey activities; maintenance plans; configuration data; support equipment list; provisioning conferences and all related technical support; configuration status accounting report (CSAR); retrofit configuration status (RCS); technical directive kit shipment report (TDKSR); technical field team support; repair disposition; engineering and technical studies; training support; maintenance transition planning; bulletins and interim change notices; contractor validation, verification, and/or installation of engineering changes; logistics support analysis/maintenance plan for engineering changes; engineering, and development; facilities construction; OPSEC; ILS program management; continual assessment of life cycle logistics support; packaging, handling, storage, and transportation; software development/ maintenance-mission statements; contractor engineering technical services (CETS); and all data associated with the above items.
