sought for Disposable Surgical Drapes, Gowns, and Packs This is a
Market Survey to locate potential sources for the standardization of
various disposable surgical drapes, gowns, and packs. The Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA) desires to offer its customers, on a national
basis, the best possible products and prices and to offer its
contractors more opportunities within the system. The intent of the
standardization program is to establish national preferred sources for
medical/surgical items to standardize VA's purchasing of products.
Bids/Offers are not being solicited at this time. A formal solicitation
or request for quotations will be issued at a later date. Companies
interested in having their items evaluated for possible inclusion in
the standardization process should carefully review the item
descriptions listed below. If your company can provide any of these
items, please forward samples of all items available from your company
that meet the product descriptions (number of samples required follow
each product name) and any corresponding product literature (including
all sizes, configurations, etc. available) to: Department of Veterans

60141 Companies submitting samples are also encouraged to obtain FSS
contracts from the respective government contract office. The VA
Surgical User Group, a group of VA nurses and physicians, who have
expertise and knowledge of the products, will review and technically
evaluate any samples submitted. VA deems the members of the Surgical
User Group to be medical experts; therefore, they are qualified to
determine which products are acceptable. SAMPLES (number of samples
required follow each product name) AND PRODUCT LITERATURE MUST BE
RECEIVED NO LATER THAN MAY 28, 1999. Companies not submitting samples
by the above date may be eliminated from consideration on any
subsequent procurement action for these items.For additional

this time are as follows: 1. BASIC PACK (Samples: 1 Case) The basic
pack shall include 1 Mayo Cover, 4 Drape Towels with Adhesive, 1 Suture
Bag, 4 Drape Sheets, Fan-Folded, 55" x 76" (+ or -- 2" tolerance), 1
Reinforced Back Table Cover, at least 44" x at least 88" (Reinforced
Area at least 44" x at least 60"), 1 Extra-Large Fabric Reinforced
Scrub Nurse Gown with Hand Towel and Overwrap, and 2 Extra-Large Fabric
Reinforced Gowns with Hand Towels. 2. ARTHROSCOPY PACK (VA requires
only 2 gowns in pack, but will accept 3) (Samples: 1 Case) 3. HIP PACK
(Samples: 1 Case) 4. CYSTOSCOPY PACK (Samples: 1 Case) 5. LAPAROTOMY
DRAPE (Samples: 1 Case) 6. EXTREMITY SHEET (Samples: 1 Case) 7. SPLIT
SHEET (Samples: 1 Case) 8. ZONED IMPERVIOUS GOWNS WITH HAND TOWEL, IN
OVERWRAP (Large, X-Large, and XX-Large) (Samples: 1 Case) (*NOTE -- For
all gowns requested, including gowns included in packs, snap closures
or velcro closures are acceptable.*) (**ADDITIONAL INFO REQUIRED -- In
addition to submitting the samples and products literature requested
above, companies must include a cover letter that includes the
following information: 1) whether the individual components of the
basic pack are also sold separately (in overwrap if necessary), 2) if
the company and all of its suppliers are Y2K compliant, and 3) which,
if any, of the products (or components) offered for consideration are
