053199 POC Mr. Miles Schulberg The Immigration and Naturalization
Service (INS) is searching for user-friendly Commercial-Off-The-Shelf
(COTS) applications for firearms accountability and inventory
management. The system should track the complete life cycle of a
firearm i.e., acquisition, maintenance, repair, and disposal. The
system should be able to account for seized firearms as well as
personally-owned firearms. The system should be able to record and
update quarterly firearms qualifications data for all INS officers. The
system should provide automated capability for ordering, tracking the
in-transit status, and monitoring the use of ammunition. The system
should be able to preserve and provide information relating to
procurement and financial actions throughout the firearms life cycle.
The system should be able to generate a transaction history of each
firearm's physical location throughout its life cycle. The system
should be able to use the criteria in an INS Standard Table of
Organization and Equipment to determine the firearms authorized for
field organizations. The system must provide query capability for
producing reports and for analyzing statistics for trends and
