Anderson, andedr2@inel.gov. Low Cost Process to Manufacture Biodiesel
from Waste French Fry Oil and other Glycerides. This is a potential
technology development and licensing opportunity with Lockheed Martin
Idaho Technologies Company ("LIMTCO"), the prime operating contractor
for the Department of Energy at the Idaho National Engineering and
Environmental Laboratory ("INEEL"). The technology is a low cost
single-phase process for manufacturing biodiesel from glyceride wastes
such as spent french fry oil, used food processing oils,
off-specification vegetable oils, and fats. The continuous synthesis
process produces a high-grade diesel-type fuel with reduced
manufacturing time, compared to currently used methods, and at a lower
cost. The process also produces a high-grade glycerol as a secondary
by-product. The resulting fuel burns cleaner and produces less
pollution than diesel fuel. The process eliminates the need for the use
of water in the production of biodiesel and produces a fuel that is
free of aromatic compounds and is rapidly biodegradable. LMITCO is
seeking a written indication of interest from industry partners
interested in funding a collaborative technology development project
and/or entering into a license agreement for the purpose of developing
and commercializing this technology. This is not an opportunity to
provide goods or services to LMITCO or the Department of Energy. This
Request for Interest ("RFI") will close to response thirty (30) days
after publication. Interested parties should send e-mail to
andedr2@inel.gov (David R. Anderson, Sr. Account Executive, Technology
Transfer and Business Development Office, LMITCO). Communication may
also be sent by facsimile at: 208-526-0953 or by regular mail with
attention to Mr. David R. Anderson, Sr. Account Executive, Technology
Transfer and Business Development Office, LMITCO, PO Box 1625, Idaho
