http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. E-MAIL: Jeanne Whiteman,
Contract Negotiator, whitemanjy@npt.nuwc.navy.mil. The Naval Undersea
Warfare Center, Division Newport has a requirement to perform on site
calibration and repair services at SESEF facilities located throughout
the United States including Virginia Beach, VA, Mayport, FL, San
Diego, CA, Hawaii and Washington state. These calibrations are required
per NAVSEAINST 4734.1, NUWCDIVNPTINST 3141.1C and ANSI specifications
Z540, that covers the range of microwave and electronic test
instrumentation resident at these facilities. On-site calibration is
required to continue adequate support of US Navy Electromagnetic
Spectrum testing and Communication development at the subject sites.
Most of the instrumentation requiring calibration is one of a kind, and
the lack of any of these instruments could seriously impact the
readiness of the testing facilities, and subsequently the Fleet. As
such, the SESEF facility requires the use of at least two specially
equipped, environmentally controlled calibration vans to perform on
site calibration. The contractor shall be required to calibrate and
repair instrumentation in the following fields; (1) Direct current, (2)
Alternating current, (3) Radio and Microwave Frequency, (4) Time, (5)
Power, (6) Attenuation, (7) Inductance, (8) Capacitance, (9) Resistance
and (10) Phase. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport
intends to award a sole source contract to Acucal, Inc. who was the
incumbent on the previous contract. The contract will be awarded as a
Cost Plus Fixed Fee type of contract based on FAR Part 12. Our
department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form.
