410-477-7170 Architect-Engineer services are required for Project
512-540, "Outpatient Clinic Imaging Support Building." A/E to provide
professional services to renovate Building 14 at the VA Maryland Health
Care System Baltimore Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center, from an
unoccupied small animal research facility to a medical imaging support
facility, consisting of approximately 3,500 square feet, to include a
general purpose radiographic room. The work will include site survey to
verify existing conditions, demolition of existing walls and electrical
and mechanical systems, patching and repairing of roof penetrations,
site prep for imaging equipment, new HVAC systems, improvement to
existing floor slab and architectural improvements to building exterior
and interior. The construction cost is estimated at $705,000. A/E firms
which meet the requirements described in this announcement are invited
to submit a completed SF 254, "Architect-Engineer and Related Services
Questionnaire" and SF 255, "Architect-Engineer and Related Services
Questionnaire for Specific Project." Responses should be submitted to:

Responses must be received by 6/4/99 at 4:30 p.m. This is not a request
for proposal. Selection will be based upon the following evaluation
factors: 1. Specialized experience and technical competence of the firm
with the type of services required; 2. Specific experience and
qualifications of personnel proposed for assignment to the project and
record of working together as a team; 3. Professional capacity of the
firm in the designated geographic area of the project to perform work
(including any specialized services) within time limitations; 4. Past
record of performance on contracts with the Veterans Administration;
and 5. Geographic location and facilities of the working office(s)
which would provide the professional services and familiarity with the
