Logistic Command, Pacific proposes to contract drydock and repairs of
USCGC BAYBERRY (WLI 65400) & BARGE (CGB 60044). The contractor shall
provide all labor and materials to perform dry dock and repairs for the
USCGC BAYBERRY a 65' buoy tender boat, homeported in Seattle, WA. All
work shall be at the contractor's facility, during the period of 07
September 1999 and completing 15 October 1999. Work items to include:
BAYBERRY- gantt (bar) production chart, ultrasonic measurement of hull
plating thickness, underwater body inspection, fuel oil tank leaning
and inspect, sewage tank clean and inspect, fuel oil tank piping
penetration sleeve installation and valve renewal, propulsion shaft
inspection, electric meter calibration, ship service generator steam
cleaning, fathometer v-850 transducer renewal (b-14), high pressure
gauge calibration, pressure relief valve inspection and test,
ventilation duct cleaning, vent fans overhaul, sea valve, sea strainer,
and water piece overhaul, rudder and rudder stock maintenance, bilge
preservation, forward main hold preservation, potable water tank
preservation, underwater body preservation (partial), zinc anode
renewal, temporary services, dry-docking/hauling. BARGE -- work to
include: rub rail replacement, underwater body preservation (partial),
zinc anode renewal, dry-docking/hauling, ultrasonic measurement of
hull plating thickness. Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on or
about 5/17/99. The solicitation is issued in accordance with the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. All responsive sources
may submit a offer, which will be considered by this agency. For
Women-Owned and Disadvantage Business Enterprises, the Department of
Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital
assistance for transportation related contracts. Loans are available
under the DOT Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest
rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of
