COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 4,1999 PSA#2338INDUSTRY BRIEFINDUSTRY BRIEFING TO DISCUSS IDIQ CONTRACTS AND CPAR'S
FOR THE LEONARDO,NEW JERSEY AREA On 23 June 1999 (9:00AM) at Naval
Weapons Station, Colts Neck, New Jersey SUPSHIP Portsmouth will conduct
an "Industry Briefing" to discuss proposed Indefinite
Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts to support U. S. Navy,
AOE Class ships located in the Leonardo, New Jersey area. The purpose
of this briefing is to discuss the procedures required for the
solicitation and award of IDIQ contracts under Best Value Contracting
and the Department of the Navy Contractor Performance Assessment
Reporting System (CPAR's). IDIQ contracts are designed to satisfy our
customers' many requirements for emergent ship repair; where the
Government cannot predict those requirements, with a great deal of
certainty. These contracts are usually for a base year and 4 option
years and are structured so specifics on quantities, delivery and the
statement of work are provided by an individual task order placed
against the basic contract. Many of these solicitations may result in
multiple awards. IDIQ contracts are being awarded utilizing Best Value
Source Selection. Each contract will contain Minimum and Maximum
values. CPAR's is a Government requirement to accomplish a past
performance assessment of a contractor's performance on contracts
exceeding $500,000 ( in accordance with FAR 42.15). All CPAR's
information contained within the assessment may be utilized by the
Government for future source selection. If your firm is interested in
attending this briefing FAX a response with the number and names of
people who will be attending to Mr. Dick Ydoyaga at (757) 396-7176 no
later than 17 June 1999. If you have any questions I can be reached at
