COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 4,1999 PSA#2338NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT FOR THE CONVERSION OF
ALARM SENDING EQUIPMENT FROM INTRAC TO MOSCAD AT INDEPENDENCE NATIONAL
HISTORICAL PARK. Under the Authority of FAR 6.302.1, the National Park
Service in Philadelphia, PA. intends to enter into negotiations with
Motorola on a Sole Source Non-Competitive basis for the conversion of
the Alarm sending equipment from Intrac to Moscad. The contract is
being issued to replace/upgrade the existing Intrac Radio Alarm Sending
Units with Digital Units (Moscad). The new system will continue to work
with the existing equipment at outlying buildings. The base unit has
been upgraded to Motorola -- Moscad. Global Data Specialists is the
only known vendor approved by Motorola with the needed experience to
install and program the Motorola Moscad System. The Moscad Radio System
is the only system that meets the criteria set forth for the unique and
critical needs of the National Park Service in Philadelphia. Therefore;
in accordance with authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as implemented in FAR
6.302.1, the government intends to enter into negotiations with
Motorola within thirty (30) days after the publication of this notice.
A determination not to open the requirement to competition based on
responses received to this notice is soley within the discretion of the
agency. This synopsis may represent the only notice of this action.
