Contract Specialist Sally M. Winn (309) 782-8667 (Site Code DAAA09)
E-MAIL: WINNS@IOC.ARMY.MIL, WINNS@IOC.ARMY.MIL. HQ, IOC is seeking
possible sources of supply for High and Low Temperature Gas Coolers.
The U.S. Army owns and operated furnaces used for demilitarization of
ammunition items. Two of these furnaces are rotary kiln furnaces to
dispose of explosives and munitons and roller hearth furnaces to flash
explosives from metal parts, specifically ammunition items. The rotary
kiln furnaces are classified as hazardous waste incinerators under the
Resource Conversation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The roller hearth
furnaces are classified as a Clean Air Permit furnace system. The
purpose of obtaining the high and low termperature gas coolers is to
allow the rotary kiln furnace to comply with RCRA emission standards
for the inceneration of hazardous waste items being burned in the
furnaces. The same heat exchangers will also be used with the roller
hearth furnaces. Cost estimates are requested for budgetary purposes
only. There is no firm requirement for this item and funds are not
available. No solicitation will be issued at this time. Participation
in this effort is strictly voluntary with no cost or obligation to be
incurred by the Government. The Government will in no way be obligated
to purchase all or any part of the supply described above. Any of the
information stated above concerning the supply is subject to change.
All information obtained from this request shall be made available for
competitive bidding purposes, should the need arise. Any information
provided should be in written or published form and submitted by 17 May
99 to: HQ, IOC, ATTN: AMSIO-ACI-P (Sally Winn), Rock Island, IL
61299-6000. Interested sources of supply should contact the POC listed
