This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation. Submit offers on requisition # RFQ904. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is an unrestricted procurement. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-11. The associated Standards Industrial Classification Code (SIC) for this procurement is 3579; small business size is 500 employees. SCHEDULE: The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML), Hamilton, Montana has a requirement for a color digital copier/printer for output for publication of color prints, 35mm slides andoverhead transparencies with a "front end device" or RIP Controller capable of handling large digital files, as manufactured by Minolta, or equal. An embedded RIP to fit space requirements of no more than 35" x 35"; output comparable to photo or dye-sublimation quality with a minimum of 400 dpi.; prints on a full 11" x 17" bleed edge and on a variety of media surfaces, including glossy card stock are required. Metal media trays and a "one-step" color- testing mode are preferred. Technical capability of the item offered to meet the Government requirements; maintenance service response time; ease of operation; and price will be used to evaluate offers. FOB Point shall be Destination, Hamilton, MT. Inside delivery shall be no more than 30 days after receipt of order (ARO). Delivery location is Rocky Mountain Laboratories, 903 S. 4th Street, Hamilton, MT.
