Shoe, Contract Specialist, (770) 488-2699 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is planning to make award of a contract to conduct a pilot study of clinical cytology laboratories associated with public, private and university-affiliated hospitals which perform sputum cytology examinations. The study will determine the types and magnitude of preanalytic variability in the aforementioned laboratories with respect to sputum cytology examinations. The study will assess the affect of specimen collection, handling and processing on the adequacy of sputum specimens for diagnostic purposes. The Contractor shall be responsible for laboratory recruitment, execution and oversight of data collection including data gathering instruments, electronic data entry and management, data analysis and a final written report of study findings.
