This project is for the harvest and removal of conifer trees for stocking level control, to provide, maintain and enhance existing mature and old-growth communities; and to perform fuels reduction to minimize the long term potential of catastrophic wildfire. Services including thinning of undesirable trees, harvesting merchantable timber, salvage of a variety of timber products and providing a detailed report including production cost summaries of the harvest activity costs at the end of the project. The proposed project area is approximately 1551 acres. A pre-proposal meeting will be scheduled for June 21, 1999 at Chemult Ranger District. Estimated issue date is May 26, 1999 and estimated open date is July 12, 1999. Approximate start work date is October 1, 1999. This project is located within the boundaries of the Antelope Pilot Project area on the Chemult Ranger District of the Winema National Forest, Klamath County, Oregon. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) for this project is 0851. The small business size standard is $5 million average annual receipts for the past three (3) previous years.
