The USDA Forest Service, Alaska Region intends to contract for professional land surveying services on the Glacier Ranger District of the Chugach National Forest. Site A and Additive B are located within the Portage Window (USS 4597), in T9N, R2-3E, SM, near Portage, Alaska, approximately 41 highway miles south of Anchorage, Alaska, and are accessible from the Seward Highway. Site A is a retracement survey of USS 6867, Lots 1 through 6, and USS 7012, Lot 1 and 2. Additive B is also a retracement survey of USS 7023 and USS 7010, Lots 1 and 2. The work also consists of brushing, posting, and marking the National Forest property boundary, maintaining corners, bearing trees and other accessories, and preparing recordable plats. All work shall be performed by, or under the direct supervision of a person registered or licensed to practice surveying in the State of Alaska. The estimated start work date is late June to early July 1999. The contract time will be 90 calendar days for the field work plus an additional 60 calendar days to complete all other work and deliver the final plats. A firm-fixed-price contract for professional architect-engineer services will be negotiated. Interested firms may request a Scope of Services document from the contracting office. Firms will be required to complete an SF-254 and SF-255 to be considered for this project. See Numbered Note 24. This project is 100% emerging small business set-aside. "Emerging small business" as used in this announcement means a small business concern whose average annual gross receipts for the last three fiscal years does not exceed $1.25 million. The estimated price range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000.
