COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 5,1999 PSA#2339NETWORKING SESSION FTS2001 ACQUISITION The General Services
Administration Post-Award Procurement Networking Session Announcement
for the FTS2001 Acquisition. In a continuing effort to enhance General
Services Administration (GSA) procurement opportunities for small,
small disadvantaged, and women-owned small businessess, the Office of
Enterprise Development (OED), in conjuction with the Federal Technology
Service will be conducting a Post-Award Procurement Networking Session
under the Federal Technology Service's acquisition. FTS2001 was
awarded to two telecommunications service providers and will require
support in many function areas. FTS2001 will provide multi-billion
dollars worth of procurement opportunities to the two contractors that
won the award. These contractors will be required to team and
subcontract with various small, small disadvantaged, the women-owned
small businesses in order to successfully compete for the aquisition
and perform the work to be let under the contracts. The networking
session will allow MCI WorldCom and US Sprint to come together with
these small firms to discuss business interests with the hope of
establishing a contracting relationship for FTS2001. To provide the
maximum opportunity for small businesses to participate and receive
award consideration for this acquisition, the Standard Industrial
Classification code for the procurement is 4813. The FTS2001 Acquisiton
is subject to the Small Disadvantaged Business Price Evaluation
Adjustment factor. To ensure that the potential price contractors and
the interested large and small business representatives have effective
communications for establishing partnerships, teaming arrangements or
subcontracting agreements, only the frist 125 firms to register will
be allowed to participate in this networking session. The networking
seesion is scheduled from 9:00am to 12:00pm., May 19, 1999 at the
Wyndham Hotel, 1400 M Street, NW., Washington, DC 20005 202-429-1700.
All businesses wishing to participate in the networking session should
