performed under this acquisition involves the construction of an
earthen berm and buttress against the downstream slope of Willow Creek
Dam. The work includes, 1) removal, hauling, and stockpiling
apporximately 16,000 cubic yards of the downstream rockfill section of
the dam, 2) furnishing, installing, operating, and removing a
dewatering system, 3) excavating approximately 29,000 cubic yards of
foundation alluvium at the downstream toe of the dam to a depth of
about 20 feet; 4) excavating, processing, and stockpiling embankment
materials, 5) furnishing and placing approximately 10,000 cubic yards
filter and gravel drain materials, 6) furnishing and installing
approximately 165 feet of 8-inch diameter and approximately 550 feet of
12-inch diameter perforated high-density corrugated polyethylene
drainage pipe,5 precast fiberglass inspection wells, and approximately
50 feet of 18-inch non-perforated smooth wall high density
polyethylene outfall pipe, 7) placing and compacting
approximately75,000 cubic yards of processed embankment material to
construct a berm and buttress against the downstream slope of the dam,
and 8) seeding the downstream slope of the berm and buttress and
adjacent areas disturbed during the construction activites. The
estimated price range of the work is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The work
is located approximately 6 miles northwest of Augusta, Montana in Lewis
& Clark County. Soliciation package are anticipated to be available
06/08/99. Requests for solicitations should be received on or before
07/01/99. The bid opening is tentatively scheduled for 07/15/99, at the
office of the Bureau of Reclamation, Great Plains Regional Office, U.S.
Federal Building, 316 N 26th Street, Billings, Montana 59101. The
contract is to be completed within approximately 425 days. There is no
charge for the first copy of the soliciation, additional sets will be
provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00
each. After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, withoutcharge, at
the Bureau of Reclamation; Great Plains Regional Office, Room 2031,
Federal Building, 316 North 26th Street, Billings, Montana. All
responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the
Bureau of Reclamation. The small business size standard is $17,000,000
