The work consists of providing all labor, materials, supervision, and administration to install a residential-type kitchen in Barracks Number 3. This barracks is located in the cantonment area of Coast Guard Reservation, Kodiak, AK. The work will entail removal of 500 SF of carpeting and removal of 10 LF of baseboard heat. A residential-type kitchen will then be installed for use by barracks residents. Two dual ovens, two rangetops, a sink, dishwasher, and garbage-disposal unit will be installed along with associated cabinetry. Floor and wall finish will be required. Existing building utilities -- electrical, water, and waste -- will be required to be extended into the area and a kitchen hood vent ducted to outside the building. Some of the work will require entry into the crawl space below the floor, which is a confined area and has small amounts of friable asbestos. Optional bid items include additional cabinetry, window replacement, and installation of a filtered water/ice dispenser.
