The United States Air Force is requesting proposals to conduct a full and open, negotiated competition for the renovation of approximately 90,000 square feet in Building 1607, Hanscom AFB, MA. The procurement will be a one step "Design-Build" process. The work consists of the design and construction of new mechanical system, new electrical distribution system, new open office space, new floor covering, new ceiling, new interior walls, new sprinkler system, new elevator, new system furniture, new windows, new side entrance, and new brick exterior. The work WILL NOT include demolition and removal of asbestos containing building material consisting of wallboard, floor tile, ceiling tile and pipe insulation, which is done with another contract. The project involves all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and performance of all operations required to complete the aforementioned work in accordance with the drawings and specification. The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. A Firm Fixed Price contract is planned with an expected period of performance of 20 months.
