NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to: 1) provide crew rescue return capability utilizing an upgraded Soyuz vehicle in order to support Flight 18A ISS mission; 2) to provide a range of ground-based equipment to be used at the Johnson Space Center to train space-walking astronauts; and 3) and to provide other hardware critical to the International Space Station. NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from the Russian Space Agency (RSA) under contract NAS15-10110 pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1): Only one responsible source. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. RFP will be released on or about 30 days after publication of this synopsis in the CBD. Firm date for receipt of proposals will be stated in the RFP. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
