Commerce/NOAA National Ocean Service (NOS) require the service of a
contractor to assist the Special Projects Office to develop displays
and artwork that will communicate the new NOS message. The contractor
shall produce an additional 25 kiosks to be placed in placed in NOS
field offices, specified by NOS, to improve the visi- bility and
understanding of NOS's mission, both for employees and the general
public. The 25 additional kiosks must match the existing material type,
color, and quality of those already produced by Jands, Inc. The kiosks
must be safely packaged and shipped to NOS facilities around the
country. These items will represent the new NOS to senior government
officials, NOAA and NOS partners, and the public throughout the
country. The contractor will produce the following items: (1) 25
information kiosks, (2) Artwork output, developed by NOS, to be placed
in the top and bottom cardholders on the kiosk, (3) 25 crates
necessary to ship the kiosks to the NOSfield offices and (4) shipment
of 25 kiosks to NOS facilities around the country. The kiosks must meet
the following specifications: (1) 19in.x28in. elliptical display stand
with an acrylic cardholder attached to the top for an overall height
of 68in., (2) Height at front of base to be 41-5/8in. With a 30 degree
slope to height of 54-1/4in. at back of oval base, (3) Vertical
surfaces to be laminated with navy blue matte laminate and 30 degree
sloped top laminated with peacock matte laminate, (4) Top surface will
have removable (but locked in and released with internal locking
system) recessed acrylic 8-pocket literature holder fabricated with
recessed 1/4 blue acrylic (#2069). Pockets to be angled 20 degrees
compensating for the 30 degree tilt of display surface. An NOS emblem
to be mounted into the top of display stand flush with the laminate
surface. (Emblems supplied by NOS). Laminate base to have 22inx30in
hinged access door at back with a lock. Selection criteria to be
considered in the selection of a contractor to undertak this project:
(1) Experience in the industry constructing similiar types of displays
using a wide variety of materials (e.g., wood, Formica, and acrylic).
(2) Use of high-end Macintosh platform to process the large,
high-resolution Photoshop digital files NOS provides. (3) Color
printing capability to produce large-size, high resolution,
laser-quality output.(4) Experience building crates to safely ship
fragile display pieces around the country and overseas. (5) A protocol
in place for shipping large items nationally and overseas and (6)
Location around the Washington metropolitan area to allow NOS to
oversee the development of the kiosks and artwork to ensure they are
consistent with what already exists before they are shipped to NOS
facilities around the country. Any organization capable of providing
these items are invited to submit a written request for solicitation
package and specifications for the artwork are available upon request
to the address above. All received proposals will be evaluated on a
"best value basis" giving due consideration to price approach,
