The Umatilla National Forest is soliciting bids for reconstruction consisting of clearing, excavation, drainage, subgrade treatment, crushing, and placing aggregate, and cattleguard installation. (NOTE-clearing and grubbing -- Merchantible timber has been logged and hauled within project limits. Approximately 90% of reprod, nonmerch, and slash has been removed and disposed by chipping. All stumps remain and will require disposal. Hazard tree removal has been completed. Project located from LaGrande, Oregon at Hwy 82 proceed West on I-84 9.8 miles to Hilgard exit 251, then South West on Hwy 244 13.9 miles to County Road 1, then North on County Road 1 1.8 miles to beginning of the project.
