The Range Instrumentation Systems Program Office Integrated Product Team (IPT), Air Armament Center (AAC), Eglin AFB, Florida, plans to contract on a sole source basis with Metric Systems Corporation, 645 Anchors Street, Fort Walton Beach, FL, 32548-3888 for the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) of 24 USAFE Air Combat Training Pods (UAPs) and 3 USAFE Debriefing Stations (UDS) being leased under the previously awarded USAFE Rangeless Interim Training System (URITS) contract F08626-98-0029. Contract F08626-98-0029 included priced options for 24 UAPs and 3 UDSs for a TBD location, but did not include CLS since the location was unknown. These options are now being exercised. The delivery location has since been determined to be Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia. The CLS capability (i.e spares, support equipment, personnel) needs to be in place at Prince Sultan Air Base NLT 15 October 1999. Metric Systems Corporation is the only qualified source to perform this effort. Metric Systems Corporation is uniquely capable of performing this task since they own both the UAPs and UDSs and have proprietary rights to all the critical pod hardware and software. The anticipated contract type is Firm Fixed Price (FFP). Information associated with this program is classified up to, and including, SECRET/NOFORN. The Standard Industrial Classification for this sole source acquisition is 3663 (750 personnel).
