Army Special Operations Command intends to issue a solicitation for a
firm-fixed-price contract with General Dynamics Field Service Support
for GAU-19 Test/User Evaluation Two field service engineers shall
provide technical support to the 160th SOAR during test/user evaluation
of the GAU-19. Contractor personnel shall assist with installation,
permission checks, training and technical support during the
evaluation. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code applicable to
this acquisition is 8900. The size standard is 1000. The RFP will be
issued no later than 5 May 1999 with closing date 19 May 1999. The
proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the
Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under
the authority of FAR 6.302. The intended source is General Dynamics
Corporation, Lakeside Ave., Burlington, VT 05401-4985. The Government
does not have technical sources or data to support during test/user
evaluation of the GAU-19. General Dynamics owns all design rights and
is the only known source. The proposed contract action is for supplies
or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate
with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. A determination
by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon
responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the
Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for
the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
procurement. General Dynamics possess engineering expertise and
technical data to covey class room material in a timely manner.
Interested persons may identify themselves to the contracting officer.
This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all
proposals received within 14 days after date of publication of this
