E-MAIL: Janet K. Reese, jreese@wstf.nasa.gov. NASA/JSC WSTF plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for CertainTeed Corporation SDR 17, 9.05" PVC well screen and casing. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/JSC WSTF intends to purchase the items from CertainTeed Corporation, per a justification pursuant to FAR 13.106, for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be available from only one source. The CertainTeed Corporation is the only known supplier of a PVC well casing and screen that utilizes a spline-lock joint resulting in a hanging weight sufficient enough to allow installation of a 1,000-foot casing string. In addition, the thick-wall (SDR 17) PVC results in a collapse strength high enough to withstand the radial pressures that will be exerted by our 500-foot filterpack column. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/ capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
