The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound has a requirement for 4 each Brine pumps, Chesterton Model System One, LD-17 Complete Pump 2x3-13, or equal, to be installed on the LSD43, USS Fort McHenry. The pump is rated at 205 gpm at 97 TDH, and includes a 10.00" CD4MCU Impeller, 316 sst solid shaft, C-Frame adapter, Chesterton type 123 cartridge mechanical seal driven by a 10hp, 1750 rpm, TEFC 3/60/460 frame 215 TC, and hostile environment motor meeting IEEE 45. The pump shall be open-ended, horizontally mounted, and must be shock qualified per MIL-S-901D and approved for shipboard use by the quote due date (on or about 07 Jun 99). Delivery of the units to the Naval Ship Repair Facility, Sasebo, Japan, is required no later than 08 Oct 99. All interested parties shall indicate with their request for the RFQ their ability to meet shock qualification by 07 Jun 99. The RFQ will be issued utilizing the procedures of FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisition. RYG evaluation will apply to this acquisition. It is anticipated that the RFQ will be issued on or about 20 May 99 with a 2 week closing. Per FAR 5.203(h), the period of time between publication of this synopsis and receipt of quotes has been reduced to 33 days.
