Wolfe, 304/285-5883 THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation is issued as Request for Quotation No. RQ99-022. This procurement is being issued unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Classification is 3829 with a size standard of 500 employees. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-08. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in Morgantown, WV has a requirement for the following items, brand name or equal to items listed below which are manufactured by Measurements Group, Inc., Raleigh, NC: Contract Line Item (CLIN) (001) Model #2310, Strain Gage Amplifier, 16 each; (002) Model #2360, 4-channel Amplifier Enclosure, 4 each; (003) #2310-A50, 12-pin military connectors, 10 each; (004) #GAK-2-200, Strain Gage Application Kit, 1 each; (005) #S-120-01, Precision Resistors, 10 each; (006) #S-350-01, Precision Resistors, 10 each; and (007) #326-DFV 100, Three Conductor Cable; 1 each. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT/SPECIFICATIONS: Strain gauge amplifiers: 1. Must accept inputs from strain gauges (both foil and piezo-resistive type), load transducers, pressure transducers, dc displacement transducers, potentiometer, thermocouples and RTD's without any internal modifications 2. Must accept 1/4, 1/2 or full bridge inputs 3. 120 and 350 bridge completion resistors must be available without any internal modifications 4. Excitation voltage range: 0.5 to 15 Vdc (plus or minus) 1%. 5. Noise and ripple: 0.05% peak to peak (dc to 10 kHz) 6. Stability: 0.02%/deg C 7. Amplifier gain: 1 to 11,000 continuously variable 8. Output voltage: -10 volts to + 10 volts DC 9. Individual power supply for each amplifier 10. Must have switchable active filters for each amplifier Amplifier system: Each system must contain 4 amplifier channels EVALUATION FACTORS: Offers will be evaluated against the System Specifications listed above. The Government will evaluate based on F.O.B. Destination (Morgantown, West Virginia) and the requirements at FAR 52.214.21 "Descriptive Literature" apply. Information provided must demonstrate the unit's ability to meet the specifications above or your offer may be rejected. The Government intends to make one award to the responsive, responsible offeror whose proposal is most advantageous to the Government.
