Verdon, Contracting Officer, (301) 227-7824 The National Imagery and Mapping Agency intends to procure on a sole source basis from Panasonic Broadcast and Television Company commercial digital video record and playback equipment for High Definition Television (HDTV) signals conforming to DoD/USIGS Video Imagery Standard Profile (VISP). Authority for this sole source procurement is FAR 6.302-1. The following items will be procured from Panasonic on a sole source basis: D-5 HD VTR (AJHD2700); Down Converter (AJDFC2000); A/D Converter (AJHAD500); D/A Converter (AJHDA500); and Analog audioboard (AJMK30). Firms that recognize they can provide this equipment are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within seven (7) calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on any information provided is solely within the discretion of the Government.
