This RFP will be a research and development project to develop one each demonstrator diesel-engine, plus associated testing and technical reports, for the US Army's Palletized Load System (PLS) heavy truck. The demonstrator engine will have lower emissions and higher fuel economy than currently obtained. The estimated solicitation release date is on or about 18 May 99: the solicitation will be available after that date at the web-site identified below.
