geotechnical explorations are needed during the summer of 1999 as part
of the ongoing Providence Harbor Maintenance Dredging study. The
sampling and exploration areas will be the north end of the shipping
channel and Watchemoket Cove. Approximately 150 gallons of material
shall be collected between 0 and 13 feet of depth for biological and
chemical sampling. Nine borings 70 feet deep shall be advanced at the
north end of the shipping channel. Six borings 100 feet deep shall be
advanced at Watchemoket Cove. An experienced geologist, geotechnical
engineer, or geohydrological engineer shall inspect and oversee all the
