Eisentrout, 304-726-5376 The primary effort is to provide all the necessary labor, equipment, and materials to design, fabricate, deliver, install, and make fully functional one Laser Projection System (LPS) which will be utilized to support positioning and inspection of materials and tools in varying sizes and configurations. Systems shall include all hardware, software, and control systems. The laser beam will be projected on various materials and surfaces, typically fiberglass, woven graphite, adhesives, Kevlar, PEEK, metal, etc. The LPS shall be capable of projecting complete outlines, text data, parts, and other symbols. The LPS shall be rated for continuous operation at 100% duty cycle over three shifts of operation. System design shall place a high priority on ergonomic considerations ssuch as CRT visability, eye fatigue, and operation convenience. System shall accommodate material lay-up fixtures with a planer surface of 10' by 10' with concave and/or convex features of +/- 45 degrees as a minimum. System shall be capable of being linked to work as a dual system with the addition of appropriate equipment. Projected line total thickness shall be 0.030" at the work surface and be clearly visable to lay-up personnel. The maximum projected 3-dimensional pointing tolerance shall be +/- 0.015" from a distance of 30'. The estmated cost of the complete project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Approximate bid date is on or about June 15, 1999. The drawings and specifications will be available on or after May 21, 1999. The term of the contract is expected to be 45 calendar days.
