D21B (619)553-2199. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San
Diego (SSC-SD) is interested in applying best commercial practices to
its business operations for the purposes of reducing cost and improving
its core business processes: Program Management, Strategic Planning,
Budgeting and Accounting, Procurement Management and Asset Management.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) has been heralded as a tool used by
industry to accomplish this. SSC-SD desires to work with all ERP
vendors who are GSA Scheduled and Federal Financial Qualified, to
formulate an SSC-SD implementable ERP solution, that is economically
viable, and potentially transferable, to other Navy WCF organizations.
This is a Request for Information (RFI) and no contract will be
awarded pursuant to this announcement. There is no bid package or
solicitation document associated with this announcement. This RFI is
for planning purposes and to provide SSC-SD with sufficient information
and data to formulate an ERP configuration that meets the business
requirements. This RFI does not constitute a commitment, implied or
otherwise, that a procurement will be issued. However, SSC-SD and the
Navy will utilize the information for technical and acquisition
planning. Subsequent acquisitions may follow, in the ways, which best
meet Navy needs. The government invites comments and interested parties
to submit their indication of interest, along with any documentation
deemed necessary. Interested firms will be invited to do a presentation
of their potential ERP solution that demonstrates the 5 core business
processes identified above. All data received in response to this RFI
marked or designated as corporate or proprietary information will be
fully protected from release outside the government. It is not the
intent of SSC-SD to reimburse providers for submitting information in

should submit their indication of interest and any applicable
information by 3 June 1999 via electronic transmission to the POC's
above or via hard copy material to the above address. In addition,
parties will be invited to do a one-on-one product demonstration and
information gathering presentation for SSC-SD representatives during
the month of June 1999. Such presentations may take place in San Diego,
CA with exact timing and location to be mutually arranged. Parties are
advised that SSC-SD is encouraging frank discussions and will ask
clarifying questions but will not respond with comments or results of
