The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia is conducting market research to identify potential firms to perform hospital operation and maintenance services at the 3rd Medical Center, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. The contractor will furnish all management, tools, equipment, and labor necessary to operate, maintain, and repair the Medical Treatment Facilities. The services include: providing an effective quality control program; maintain operation and maintenance records and equipment files; operate utility plants and systems; provide environmental monitoring; perform unscheduled maintenance and repair; perform emergency maintenance and repair; provide grounds maintenance; and provide equipment and facilities preventive maintenance program. If the Navy decides to issue a solicitation: the proposed acquisition will have a period of performance of 1 year with 4 one-year option periods; the anticipated start date would be 1 October 1999; the proposed acquisition will be firm fixed price with some cost-reimbursement provisions; the requirement will be unrestricted, full and open competition; and the resultant solicitation will require the submission of cost/price and technical proposals.
