proposes to contract for the Drydock and Repair of the USCGC HAMILTON
(a 378' cutter)in the San Diego, CA area. Work will be accomplished
during the period of 7 Sept through 22 Oct 1999 at a contractor's
facility capable of drydocking the cutter. Work items will include the
following: Drydocking, underwater body inspection/preservation, renew
longitudinals under both line shaft bearings, water tight door
expansion joint renewal, mgt lube oil cooler installation, propulsion
shaft mechanical seal renewal, cpp system maintenance, ground tackle
overhaul, sea valve and waster piece overhaul, bow propulsion unit
inspect/test, sewage pipe renewal, forward and aft mast preservation.
An Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued on 26 May 1999, in
accordance with Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program.

of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital
assistance for transportation related contracts. Loans are available
under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest
rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of
