The Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is soliciting proposals for a contract to provide technical, analytic, and logistical support services to the Office of Research Review, Education, and Policy (ORREP) in furtherance of its mission to oversee AHCPR's initial review processes and to facilitate general ORREP communication and analytic responsibilities. It is anticipated that a contract will be awarded for a base period of four years, with one option period. Sources must have an understanding of Public Health Service/AHCPR grant and contract review regulations, the peer review process and its implementation, and federal reimbursement policy. Sources must also possess, or be able to obtain (in-house or through subcontracting arrangements), the staff and resources needed to expeditiously carry out the different types of activities listed above. It is estimated that the solicitation will be issued by the end of May 1999 and proposals will be due approximately 45 days thereafter.
