The Air Armament Center (AAC) Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) Program Office, AAC/YU, anticipates awarding a product improvement program to enhance performance and tactical employment of the JDAM baseline system to the McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company. The McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the only company that has the detailed knowledge necessary to provide the needed support. No government owned technical data package exists to allow any other companies to become knowledgeable about the JDAM design. See Numbered Note 22.
