The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement at the Headgate Rock Hydroelectric Plant to (1) remove and dispose of two existing armature windings; (2) clean and paint two stator cores; (3) install and test a Government-furnished armature winding in Unit No. 2; and (4) furnish, install and test a new armature winding for Unit No. 1. All materials and labor required to install the two windings, including but not limited to blocking, packing, wedges, slot fillers, tapes, epoxies, brazing materials, paints, and RTD's shall be furnished by the Contractor. All replaced generator armature windings will require testing of coils at the manufacturing facility, testing of windings after the completion of the rewind, and testing of windings during commissioning of the hydro-generator unit. Additionally, the following work may be required and will be included as an option in the solicitation: (1) remove and dispose of unit No. 3's existing generator armature winding; (2) clean and paint unit No. 3's stator core; and(3) furnish, install and test a new armature winding for unit No. 3. This work, if the option is exercised, would occur immediately after the first two units are complete. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. Offers will be evaluated on experience, facilities, delivery, past performance, and price. The work for this project is being acquired under FAR Subpart 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items of the FAR. The presolicitation notice (SF-1417) for this project is currently available. The estimated issuance date of the solicitation is June 28, 1999. The estimated date for receipt of quotes is July 27, 1999. For this acquisition the standard industrial classification code is 3621 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees.
