J-MAINTENANCE, REPAIR, AND REBUILDING OF EQUIPMENT; OPTION EXERCISES The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration intends to exercise options for National Weather Ratio transmitter maintenance and repairs with the following sole source contractors: Alabama Public Television, Georgia Public Telecommunication Commission, and the Office of Communications of the State of New Mexico. Transmitters are located in the following locations: Alabama: Anniston, Birmingham, Demopois, Florence, Huntsville, Louisville, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, and Dozier; Georgia: Atlanta, Augusta, Chatsworth, Pelham, and Waycross; New Mexico: Albuquerque, Hobbs, Clovis, Farmington, Las Cruces, Des Moines, Ruidoso, and Santa Fe. The requirements were originally published 8/11/98 (Alabama and New Mexico) and 11/19/97 (Georgia). Written responses must be received within 15 days from the date of this notice and must include (1) full maintenance descriptions, (2) staff qualifications, (3) terms and conditions, (4) a demonstration that the respondent can access and maintain the transmitters which are located at towers owned by the above-listed contractors and, (5) if the respondent proposes to move the transmitters to alternative sites in order to maintain them, full details (cost, site location, credible evidence that coverage will not be degraded, and any other information to demonstrate competence) must be included. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. The Government will not respond to incomplete qualification statements. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. In the absence of other qualified sources, it is the intent of the Government to exercise one-year options in accordance with terms and conditions of the various applicable contracts.
