Production is assumed within 100-km (60 miles) of San Francisco, CA. Contract is for quick-schedule computer-to-plate color lithographic printing: approx. 2 to 12 (avg. 8) orders per year for approx. 200 to 6,000 (avg. 2,000) saddle-stitched products consisting of approx. 8 to 80 (avg. 20) pages per copy; and of approx. 10 to 60 (avg. 42) orders per year for 200 to 6,000 (avg. 2,000) single-sheet copies printing one or both sides. Product trim sizes will range from 140 x 216 mm to 483 x 711 mm (5-1/2 x 8-1/2" to 14 x 20"). Required Category 2 contract operations include copy pickup (including FTP file retrieval), digital output of furnished digital copy, digital proofs, press inspections, Quality Level 2 four-color process printing, binding, folding, packing, and complete delivery within one to three workdays after notification of availability of materials for pickup by the contractor. Although use of computer-to-plate means and methods are assumed, this contract does not preclude the conventional use of lithographic films, if the production schedule can consistently be satisfied.
