35 -- BULKHEAD CRANE SOL DACW29-99-R-0017 DUE 060199 POC Contract Specialist, Ione Cataldo (504)862-2882, Contracting Officer, Fred Dyer The U.S.Army Engineer District, New Orleans, has a requirement for a bulkhead pedestal crane to replace the existing crane at Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Lock. The purpose of this crane is for the placement of emergency bulkheads to stop the flow of water through the lock in the event of a marine accident, which damages one or more lock gates. The specifications call for a lattice-boom crawler (track-mounted) crane, without undercarriage, mounted on a pedestal base. A standard pedestal or ring-mount crane is NOT acceptable, due to a lack of future adaptability to other purposes, unless it is also capable of accepting a crawler-type undercarriage. Award decision will be based on a combination of technical and past performance evaluation factors described under Section M of the solicitation. This action is 100% Set-Aside for Small Business.
