The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate of a sole source basis with CVI, Columbus, Ohio 43228, for Custom Fabrication of 4 sections of vacuum jacketed cryogenic helium gas transfer lines. The gas transfer lines are used to carry cryogenic helium gas at a temperature of 12 kelvin between Models 1430 and 1620 Process System International refrigerators and two cryogenic vacuum chambers in the Low Background Intrared (LBIR) facility F.O.B. Destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Required Delivery Time 10 weeks. This is a sole source with CVI because these lines are replacements of an existing cryogenic refrigeration system and as such must be exact replacements. No solicitation package will be issued. A request for quotation will be issued to CVI approximately May 10, 1999. The Government anticipates award of a fixed price purchase order on or around May 24, 1999.
