OPTICS INPUT DIMENSIONS: 30 X 30 MM 2. OPTICS OUTPUT DIMENSIONS: 29 X 29 MM 3. OPTIC LENGTH: 140 MM 4. OUTPUT FOCAL DISTANCE: 2.0 METERS 5. SPOT SIZE IN FOCAL PLANE: 2 MM FWHM 6. FIBER ALIGNMENT: SIGMA < 0.3 MILLIRADIANS 7. GLASS: CUSTOM GLASS POLYCAPILLARIES WITH OD BETWEEN 500 AND 515 MICRONS INDIVIDUAL CHANNEL DIAMETERS BETWEEN 8 AND 10 MICRONS. 8. ALIGNMENT SCREENS: ELECTROFORMED NI/CO COMPOSITION WITH HOLE PATTERNS CONTROLLED WITHIN +/- 5 MICRONS. 9. MECHANICAL MOUNT: MONOCOQUE DESIGN TO MINIMIZE MISALIGNMENT DUE TO VIBRATION LOADS ENCOUNTERED IN FLIGHT This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from X-ray Optical Systems, Inc.; 30 Coporate Circle; Albany, NY 12203 using FAR 13.106. The FOB point shall be destination. The SIC code is 3229. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have until May 26, 1999, 5:00 PM CST to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after May 26, 1999, 5 pm CST or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
