A -- BEHAVIOR DEFINITIONS IN VIDEO SURVEILLANCE AND MONITORING SYSTEMS SOL Sole Source 99-13 POC Technical: Mr. George Lukes, DARPA/ISO, FAX (703) 696-2201; Contractual: Ms. Algeria K. Tate, DARPA/CMD, FAX (703) 696-2208 DARPA intends to award a sole source purchase order to PRAJA, Inc. to provide technical and engineering support to DARPA's Program Manager for Image Understanding programs. PRAJA, Inc. will observe and define behavior of people in video surveillance and monitoring systems. The set up will provide a significant test bed for experimenting with the relevant technologies of the application. An Internet interface will be accessible and provide different modes to observe an environment. The user will be able to define events of interest in the environment under surveillance. Simple behavior patterns will be recognized using computer vision technology, and tools will be developed to identify abnormal behavior patterns. PRAJA, Inc. is the only source known to the Government with the capabilities, in-depth expertise, and personnel that can satisfy the requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Contractors capable of offering their service must respond within fifteen (15) days of the date of this notice by submitting specific technical capability to provide this service. All responses received within fifteen (15) days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
