The US Army TACOM-ARDEC has a requirement for the development of a production capability for post embossed fragmentation pattern grenade body assemblies. The grenade body assemblies consist of a cylindrical end capped steel body that is 1.22 inches on the outer diameter and approximately 1 inch on the inner diameter for a stacking length of 1.8 inches. The interior of the body contains a Rhombus fragmentation pattern that is scored into the interior. No distortion of this pattern is permitted in any forming operation. The assembly consists of staking two studs to the end cap of the grenade body. The grenade body assemblies will be used in the M80 Grenade, which is oart of the Cartridge, 105mm Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munition (DPICM): M915 system. It is anticipated that delivery of 200 prototypes will be made within six months after contract award. The US Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to award this contract to Primex Technologies, Inc., Downey, CA.
