66 -- MEASURING MACHINE UPGRADE SOL F3366099Q7508 DUE 052599 POC Jim Hood, Contract Specialist, (740)788-5046 or Glenna Pound, Contracting Officer, (740)788-5043 AFMETCAL Det 1 intends to award a sole source purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures for the purchase of an upgrade to a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 and 13.5 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. All request for written solicitations shall be disregarded. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Solicitation F33660-99-Q7508, is being issued as a sole source request for quote (RFQ). The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3829 and the business size standard is 500 employees. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-11. FAR clauses 52.212-1, 52.212-3, 52.212-4 and 52.212-5 apply to this acquisition. Due to the proprietary nature of this upgrade, the Air Force intends to solicit and award a purchase order to J Lee Hackett Co, Cincinnati, OH, under sole source conditions FAR6.302, for one each CMM SIP part number CMM5L Upgrade, with literature and manuals to include installation and training at AFMETCAL Det 1. The new software upgrade must be Y2K compliant. The upgrade shall consist of all necessary hardware and software to convert the original software package to WINSIP software. The performance and product characteristics shall be remeasured to ensure that the preupgrade specifications are still valid. A remap and repair of the CMM shall be performed, if necessary, to bring the performance and product specification back to the pre-upgrade specifications. FOB destination pricing is requested and shall include all cost for upgrade, installation, and training. Completion of the upgrade is required within 210 days after receipt of the order. Acceptance testing will be performed at AFMETCAL Det 1 within 45 days after installation and training.
