NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for one (1) each Model Number 26228039, Retrofit Kit for Novatube for LPX300 XECL Version (installed into Laser); one (1) each Part Number 260391961, Novatube for LPX300 Laser XECL version, with slide valves (installed in Laser); one (1) each Part Number 26083210, Unstable Resonator Optics for XECL LPX300 Laser; and one (1) each Part Number 410020, Laser Tube Installation at Goddard Space Flight Center. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Lambda Physik, 3201 West Commercial Blvd, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33309. These parts are to be ordered for an existing Laser from Lambda Physik. The laser tube is a critical component of the laser and is made to very demanding and exacting specifications. Lambda Physik is the only company capable of making the exact replacement parts for this laser. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
